Our special “Silver Anniversary” community invitation to participate in this year’s “Festival of Trees” at the Hancock House.
The Ticonderoga Historical Society invites organizations, businesses and individuals to showcase their talents in decorating the Hancock House as we celebrate our 25th Annual “Festival of Trees.” This event will run from November 26th through December 26th 2015 during our regular scheduled opening days and times. (Wednesday through Saturday ~ 10 to 4)
For the past twenty-four years community organizations, businesses, school groups, clubs and individuals have helped in decorating the Hancock House at this time by providing decorative trees, centerpieces, a variety of seasonal collections and other festive hand made displays of decorative art. As in years past the collection will be placed through-out the building. Space is limited and therefore acceptance to our invitation is based on our ability to accommodate the individual type of presentation and will be accepted on a first-come basis.

The highlight of the our Festive of Trees celebration is the “Champagne Reception.” This year’s open house reception will be held on Sunday, December 6th from 1 to 3.
Trees may vary in size and fire regulations and our insurance carrier require that only fire resistant artificial materials be used. Lighting and extension cords must comply with UL approved standards. All decorative pieces must be placed on or before November 25th and removed by January 4, 2016. The Hancock House, home of the Ticonderoga Historical Society, is an imposing Georgian mansion, a gift of local native philanthropist Horace Moses, (dedicated 1926) that houses a significant collection of regional material in its archives, along with an important research and large genealogical library. Our “Olde Post Office” Book and Gift Shop has a large assortment of regional titles, tasteful and quality gifts in addition to area memorabilia.
